Features of the Profiles Page

The Profiles page can be identified by the "Profiles" page label in the upper left corner of the page. You can open the Profiles page by clicking on Settings in the Menu column.

The Profiles page includes several features to help you locate and work with profiles. These features are identified in the following screen capture.

The following information explains features of the Profiles page in greater detail:

  • Search Controls - The search function is located in the top of the page and includes the following elements:

    • Search Filter - The Search Filter is the box on the left side of the page. The default value in this box is "Name" (the profile name). The values in this box correspond to specific columns in the Profiles page. For example, you can click anywhere in the Search Filter box to select a column on which to base the search, for example, "Name" to search the Profile Name column or "Description" to search the Description column for a specified character string.

    • Search Box - The Search box is the input box in the middle. Enter the information for which you want to search. For example, if the Search Filter is set to search for a name (this is the default setting), the information you enter should be all or part of a profile name; if the Search Filter is set to search for a description, the information you enter should be all or part of a profile description.

    • Search Button - After setting your search criteria in the boxes listed above, click on this button on the right side (indicated by a representation of a magnifying glass) OR press Enter to perform the search. Your search results are displayed in the body of the Users page.

  • Page Label - The name of the current page. You cannot change this information.

  • Sort the Columns - To sort the contents of the Users page, click anywhere in the column header for the column on which you want to base the sort operation. The arrow on the right side of the column label (see the screen capture above) indicates if you are sorting that column (and therefore all rows in the Profiles page) into ascending order or descending order.

  • Customize Columns - Click this control to open a drop-down menu that enables you to hide or display one or more columns. For more information, Show or Hide Columns on a Grid.

  • Export Data - Click on one of these icons to export the entire content of the table into either a spreadsheet or a PDF file. For more information, Export and View Grid Data.

  • Selected Profile - When you select a profile, the entire row changes to a light green color. This makes it easier to verify that you are working with the right profile, but does not perform any action.

  • Task Icons - The task icons are grouped together on the right side of the row on which each profile is located. The following screen capture illustrates the task icons. The task icons have been enlarged for clarity.
