The Tenant Management Tool
Until recently, the Humanify Portal was available only as premise software (software that is installed onto the customer's system). This puts the burden of storage and maintenance onto the customer, thereby adding to their costs.
The Humanify Portal is now available both as premise software and as "cloud" software. Cloud software, of course, means that the product software and databases are all located in a centralized location, providing a single instance of the software that is generally available to any number of customers. This moves the storage and maintenance costs and labor from the customer to the providing company (eLoyalty).
Having the Humanify Portal accessible in the cloud tends to raise customer interest in the product, meaning that more customers will make the decision to purchase access to the Humanify Portal product. However, someone still must set up the customer's access rights to the product. Although this is quicker and easier than performing an installation, giving a new customer access to the Humanify Portal can be complicated and time-consuming. To address this problem, the Tenant Management Tool was created to provide an easy path to customer access.
The Tenant Management Tool provides step-by-step procedures by which a new customer/tenant can be given virtually immediate access, bypassing the time and labor needed to install the product. The Tenant Management Tool includes the means to set up a database, either as a single tenant database or as a multi-tenant database. As soon as a database is available for the new tenant, it is a matter of minutes to define the new tenant and give the tenant access to the database using the unique tenant name that is assigned to each new tenant.
On completion of the tenant setup, the tenant can immediately perform administrative tasks that, for example, include defining agents, configuring skills, setting up reason codes, defining holidays, and so on. Plus, after the tenant has been set up, changing the database assigned to the tenant is as easy as editing the tenant and selecting a different database from the list of available databases.
The chapters that follow discuss the process of creating new databases, setting up new tenants, as well as updating both existing databases and existing tenants:
