Feature Name Merchant Verification
Function Allows merchants to call into the system and verify an account or check using the information from the check that was presented by the member. This feature indicates if the check presented would be honored or if the check may have issues.

IVR Input

You will need Account number (if configured) and Check number (if configured).

1. Product-Based Menu: Caller selects Merchant Services → Merchant Verification.

Example: Press 6 for Merchant Services → Press 3 for Merchant Verification

2. Function-Based Menu: Caller navigates through Account Services → Merchant Services → Merchant Verification.

Example: Press 3 for Account Services → Press 6 for Merchant Services → Press 3 for Merchant Verification

IVR Output

One transaction is presented at a time:

  • Check status (if applicable)
  • Valid/ Invalid check/ account

Error Handling

  1. Invalid Input: After the allowed invalid attempts (configured via 102), IVR replays prompt or routes to agent (Feature 0008).
  2. No Input: After the allowed no entries (configured via 101), IVR repeats the prompt once; further timeouts return caller to Main Menu (Feature 0029).
  3. Fraud Threshold Exceeded: System alerts configured email and optionally blocks further verification attempts.
  4. System Failure: “We’re unable to complete your merchant verification at this time.” Caller may be routed to an agent or disconnected gracefully.
