Payoff Settings
Purpose
Payoff Settings control how loan payoff information is calculated and presented to callers. These settings determine what payoff details are announced and which payoff dates a caller is allowed to request.
Configurations Supported
- Whether the daily loan cost is spoken as part of the payoff quote
- Which payoff date options are offered to the caller
- Whether callers can request a payoff for a future date
- How many days ahead are used when calculating preset future payoff dates
Use Case
- Most institutions enable all payoff options to give callers flexibility.
- Playing the daily loan cost improves transparency for future-dated payoffs.
- A fixed future increment is often provided for quick “payoff in X days” requests.
Field Reference
Type: Dropdown
Purpose: Defines which payoff date options are available to callers when requesting a loan payoff quote.
Behavior: Teller presents the configured payoff date options during the payoff request process. The selected configuration determines which date choices the caller can select during Teller interaction. Available values include:
- All Options Available
- Current Date Payoff
- Date Entry
- Current Date + X days
Caller Impact: Determines whether callers can request same-day payoffs only, specify a custom future date, or use preset future-date options.
Default Value: All Options Available
Type: Toggle/Boolean
Purpose: Controls whether the daily loan cost (per diem interest) is announced during a payoff quote.
Behavior: When enabled, Teller includes the daily loan cost (per diem interest) in the payoff quote if provided by the core system. When disabled, Teller omits the daily loan cost from the payoff playback.
Caller Impact: When enabled, callers understand how much additional interest accrues each day beyond the quoted payoff date. When disabled, callers receive a simplified payoff amount without per-day accrual details.
Default Value: Enabled
Type: Toggle/Boolean
Purpose: Controls whether Teller plays the payoff mailing address during a loan payoff inquiry.
Behavior: When enabled, Teller plays the payoff mailing address configured in SmartApps as part of the payoff playback. When disabled, the payoff address is not announced.
Caller Impact: When enabled, callers hear where to send payoff funds, reducing the need to speak to an agent or reference a statement. When disabled, callers receive payoff amount/date details only and must obtain the mailing address through other channels (agent, statement, online banking), if needed.
Default Value: Disabled
Type: Input/Integer
Purpose: Defines the number of days added to the current date when calculating a preset future payoff date.
Behavior: When the Payoff Date Option includes “Current Date plus X Days,” Teller automatically calculates the payoff amount using the configured number of days as the offset.
Caller Impact: Allows callers to quickly request a payoff for a predefined future date without manually entering a date.
Default Value: Institution-defined (commonly 10 days)
